I thought of some random thing again. What is this movie called The Breakfast Club? I think it’s an 80s as hell movie. It takes place in the 80s, the styles are from the 80s, even the music is from the 80s because the movie was made in the 80s. I also haven’t seen it and I’m not sure I feel like seeing it right now.
From what I understand, it’s a movie about teenagers serving detention. I don’t think it has anything to do with breakfast, and I don’t know if they even have a club. I’m not sure if Breakfast at Tiffany’s has anything to do with breakfast either, and I thought that was also an 80s movie but it’s from the 60s instead. I thought it was from the 80s because there was a song about it in the 90s. There’s also the movie Naked Lunch. It’s one of those Cronenberg joints and also an adaptation that differs significantly from the book it’s based on apparently. Maybe I should watch that. I should watch more weird as hell movies from Cronenberg as well as Lynch, two Davids of surreal art type films and interesting stuff. If I’m going to have to break my mind either way, I might as well do it with art instead of whatever slop comes out of the propaganda factories.
Long story short, The Breakfast Club is probably the most 80s movie in a number of ways, and it’s probably been referenced a lot on Family Guy, the show made of 80s pop culture references when they’re not doing gross-out humor. Maybe I will consider watching it, as maybe it’s one of those movies about “nothing” similar in concept to Seinfeld or My Dinner with Andre, where it’s just a thing that happens. There’s also that Waiting for Godot thing. I haven’t done my own independent game development for a while, but if I get back to that I’ll probably use that engine.
