A weird romance novel idea not about the novel itself.

This idea that I can’t find any record of anyone doing so far came to me during a random bout of almost falling asleep at work. I’m just putting it out there because I don’t know what I’d do with it.

It’s a standard kind of romance novel, but it comes with a chocolate bar or some kinda tray with individual pieces in it, all different flavors or at least some variety of such. Essentially it works kinda like one of those scratch and sniff books usually made for kids where in the story it tells the reader to smell a certain spot, but instead there’s a note in the margin to have piece number whatever to set the mood instead. My mind must have just randomly assembled this from concepts I wasn’t even thinking about, some stereotypes about how women love romance novels and chocolate so why not combine the two I guess.

As for why I probably wouldn’t get far with this idea myself, I don’t think I could stand writing a generic type of romance novel. I prefer different/weirder stuff, essentially the only way I’d potentially willingly write some horny literature. Of course there’s always the generative slop option. Sloption. The one people are already doing on Amazon to flood the site with more garbage as usual.

I also looked up if people even did scratch and sniff romance novels like how I described above and I didn’t find any of those either. Not sure if it’s too gimmicky or too expensive to bother when cranking things out. Also what would the smells be? Perfume? Ocean? Sweaty shirtless farmhand pits? At least with chocolate there’s some baseline for variety like one with nuts, or fruit, or one that’s just dark as possible without being straight cacao bean. Sea salt for the ocean maybe, or something along the lines of Schweddy Balls.
